There are three primary reasons behind the launch of this blog…
Communication
Our scouts, scouting families, potential scouting families and our
communities should always be kept in the loop about what’s happening in the
Council, whether it’s at the unit level, district level, council level, or at
one of our camps. This tool, like our website and Facebook, allows us to spread
the good word of Scouting…keeping our scouts engaged and hopefully attracting
more boys to our awesome program.
Access
A lot of scouts and scouters don’t have Facebook accounts, so this blog will regularly allow them to see what everyone else has seen on our Facebook for the past year – daily snippets of news, events, and thoughts about Scouting locally and nationally.

Content
The way that Facebook is laid out and utilized by its subscribers doesn’t
allow for longer, free-form, information-packed posts. People go to Facebook
for brevity. So, longer posts will be published here and we will share only the
link and a teaser on our Facebook page.
If you are organizing a district or council event, or want to share
news about your unit or a scout, please feel free to send your article to Bob
Confer at bob@conferplastics.com
and he will post them here.
Please check this blog daily, Monday – Friday, for updates about Scouting
in the Iroquois Trail Council.
